Friends and family,
The Kjernald family is doing well in Nepal, except we wish that we were in the US instead. All the paperwork has gone through and we are picking up Samuel's VISA today at the US embassy. After that, we are just waiting to fly home.
Samuel is doing really well. He still has some problems with his ears (Something that will persist until we get some proper treament done) and he still has some "things" he needs to cough up. He sleeps very well, eats very well, and enjoys to play. I guess I've told you all this before, but it feels good that things are progressing well. We can't wait to get home and start our new life. I wonder when I will get a chance to study...
Laurie and I are adjusting to our new roles as parents. We love him so much, and we are so thankful to God that he was given to us. Surely, if you have followed this blog you can see God's hand moving. Perhaps it looks like luck or human effort at times, but if we step back and look at the whole picture, it becomes clear, at least to me, that no human effort could have produced these results. And of course, luck doesn't exist. We are truly blessed.
Thank you for your prayers and love. We love your comments and we rest in your uplifted hands. We hope to introduce little Samuel to all of you as soon as possible. We are flying in to Lexington, KY on the 14th, and will head down to Mississippi as soon as his medical check is complete. But we'll be back...

Love,
the Kjernald family
